Admin and Site Enhancements (ASE)
Plugin Health & Stats
Historical overview
364-day WordPress.org historyQuick take
Admin and Site Enhancements, usually called ASE, is built for WordPress owners who would rather manage many small admin and site tweaks from one modular plugin than install a stack of single-purpose utilities. This ASE review recommends it when you will genuinely use several modules, not simply because the feature list is long.
Best fit: Admin and Site Enhancements (ASE) makes the most sense for agencies and site owners replacing several small WordPress admin and utility plugins. A different tool will usually make more sense for sites that only need one narrow feature or already have overlapping tools managing the same behavior.
What ASE actually combines
ASE groups features across content management, the admin interface, login behavior, custom code, security, performance and general utilities. Current official information lists 78 modules in total, with 60 available in Free and 18 Pro-only modules. Some free modules also gain extra controls in Pro.
The practical value is consolidation. One site might use content duplication, admin-menu cleanup, SVG upload, login redirects, custom admin CSS and several disable-component options without needing a separate plugin for every task.
Content and admin workflow modules
Free includes content duplication, hierarchical content ordering, media visibility controls, media replacement, SVG and AVIF uploads, external permalinks and several admin-list improvements. The admin side includes admin-bar cleanup, hidden notices, dashboard widget controls, menu organization and list-table enhancements.
Pro extends this area with features such as custom content types, post type switching, taxonomy term ordering, admin columns management and more detailed role-based controls.
Code, login and site-control features
ASE Free can add custom admin and front-end CSS, insert code in the head, body and footer, manage robots.txt, change the login URL, customize login and logout redirects and disable a range of WordPress components.
Pro adds a broader code snippets manager, login-page customization and additional controls around many existing modules. This is where ASE can overlap with dedicated code, security and admin plugins, so review your current stack before enabling duplicate features.
ASE Free vs Pro
ASE Free is not a stripped demo. Sixty modules are currently available without payment, although 32 of those have additional Pro features. Pro adds 18 dedicated modules plus expanded settings across many free modules.
ASE pricing
ASE is free on WordPress.org. The official listing confirms that ASE Pro is available and that a lifetime deal is offered. I could not verify a current public official dollar price on September 10, 2026, so I am not publishing a third-party or stale amount.
Because ASE can replace several paid utilities, compare the Pro cost with the plugins you would actually remove, not with the full feature count.
Trade-offs and module discipline
A multipurpose plugin reduces plugin count, but it also concentrates many settings in one place. Enable only modules you need and document which ASE feature replaces which old plugin. That makes troubleshooting and future handoffs easier.
Some modules can overlap with hosting, security, SEO, code-snippet or performance tools. Running two systems that change the same behavior can create confusing results even when both plugins work correctly.
PluginSuggest verdict
ASE makes the most sense when you can name several small plugins or code snippets it will replace. The free version is broad enough to test that approach properly. Pro is more compelling for agencies and advanced builds that need its custom content, code, admin and migration features. Keep the setup modular and avoid enabling features just because they exist.
